The original footbed consists of four layers: the first jute style, cork-latex and second jute style are topped by a suede finish. For those of you who need a touch of softness and extra comfort, we added an extra layer of foam insert below the suede cover in the new variant, the soft footbed.
Wearer comfort is of the highest importance for BIRKENSTOCK. Designed to give you the feeling of walking on a sandy beach, the footbed is contoured to the shape of the sole. The deep heel cup arches smoothly into the arch support, which curves into the toe grip, followed by a high footbed edge that protects the toes while walking. The contoured base ensures that your feet can endure many hours of wear without much added strain.
